Crater Lake

To celebrate my 5th year anniversary with Jake we went backcountry camping at Crater Lake! It is truly one of the most beautiful places on Earth. We hiked into the most insane camp spot I have ever been. After we set up camp we headed to the historic Crater Lake Lodge for a 5 star meal! They use all local organic ingredients, I had orange roasted duck and Jake had steak! Yummy!
Waking up with the most insane view we decided we had to get down to the water. We took a boat out to Wizard island where we swam and floated in some of the worlds clearest water. We also got an awesome tour of the inside of Crater Lake.
The caldera is nearly 2000ft deep, making Crater Lake the deepest lake in the United States and the 7th deepest in the world. It was the 5th national park established in the U.S. The clarity of water was rated number one in the world a few years ago. You can see 90-100ft deep! Crater Lake was once Mount Mazama. When it erupted and collapsed the ashes were spread all the way to Colorado. Another eruption created Wizard Island. This sealed off the bottom of the caldera allowing Crater Lake to be what it is today! It is truly one of the most spectacular places in the world. I highly recommend going there if you get the chance. It just reminds me how powerful our Earth can really be.

Kat Borchart Test Shoot

A couple weeks ago my friend and photographer Kat Borchart and I did a test shoot in Venice. I just got the pics back and I'm stoked with how they turned out. I did the styling, hair and make up. It's always so nice to have a laid back approach to a test shoot. Check out her work at...

Bend Elks Baseball!!

As a kid I used to come to these games. It's full of nostalgia for me. It's still the same as it was... Lots of heckling, peanuts and beer!!

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd,
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks, I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team, If they don't win, it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out, At the old ball game!

4th of July!!

Happy Independence day to us! This year in Bend, Oregon was another one for the books! The Freedom ride was the biggest it's ever been. The critical mass, gorilla style bike parade has a life of its own. People gather from all over to parade through downtown Bend blocking traffic and getting wild. The police always try and regulate but there is just too many people to stop. I love it, I wouldn't miss it for anything. We always end up back at my place, hot tubbing and playing on the river. Keeping the party going through the night we take the biker gang to watch the fireworks and after party at the bars. It's a great day to be a part of. Next year I need to get my Venice crew to the Northwest!!

Trail Running

I love being back in Central Oregon. It feels so good to run in the mountain air. The Deschutes River Trail is one of my favorites , and it's right out my back door!

Pond skim!

I was surprised to get yet another day of shredding at Mount Bachelor today. Because of the late snow year there was still rideable snow up there...and a glacier pond perfect for skimming!
Jake Price, Austin Smith and Curtis Ciszek were in fine form showing their true love for each other. It was my first pond skim so I opted for the short route. I am happy I made it!

Vineyard Vines

This week I have been in Martha's Vineyard doing a photo shoot with Vineyard Vines! We were shooting their September and October catalogue.
Vineyard Vines is a company started by two brothers in Martha's Vineyard, making ties for men. They have grown to be a well known, high end clothing company. They are particularly popular on the east coast in collegiate circles and in the sailing/yachting communities. Their signature 'whale' emblem is unmistakeable. It perfectly represents Vineyard Vines classy, preppy and fun appeal. They have a full head to toe collection for men, women and kids including swim and accessories. I especially love their cashmere sweaters!
I am thrilled to be working with such a wonderful crew.
Check them out at...
And sign up to get the new Vineyard Vines catalogue in the mail to see me!
