Pole Peddle Paddle

Have you ever wanted to ski, snowboard, x-c ski, bike, run, paddle and sprint all in one day?? If so...this is the race for you! The Pole Peddle Paddle is an extreme multi-sport race in the heart of Central Oregon. It brings athletes from all over the country to compete and have a great time in Bend! 36 years ago my parents started this race and now it has grown to have 3,000 competitors racing as individuals or in teams. The PPP raises money for the Mount Bachelor Sports Education Foundation.
This year I did the race with my Mom, sister and 2 great family friends. We ended up getting 4th place in our Women's Division. One place from getting a signature ceramic mug, oh well...It was so much fun! It's truly the most rewarding day, getting the best of Bend!
The race is made up of 6 stages for a total distance of about 34 miles.
Stage 1 - The downhill. 200ft uphill sprint though snow to your skis/snowboard to race down a gated course on Mt. Bachelor.
Stage 2 - Nordic Ski. An 8 Kilometer loop at the base of Mt. Bachelor
Stage 3 - Cycling. A 22 mile ride from the mountain into the town of Bend.
Stage 4 - Running. A 5 mile run along the Deschutes river trail.
Stage 5 - Paddling. A 1.5 mile kayak, canoe or paddle board on the Deschutes river including upstream and             downstream sections.
Stage 6 - Sprint. A 1/2 mile sprint to the finish.
